There's nothing better than the unique experience of sledging.
Even the way up is fun - gossiping with friends, or throwing the occasional snow ball. Then there's the mountain hut - cosy fires, good food and a glass of mulled wine. Finally, the best bit - a speedy ride down the valley on a sledge... a real winter highlight.
Slippery sledging fun can be had in Simmering and Lehnberghaus Mountain Huts. Rental sledges are available from the Lehnberghaus hut.
Sledging at Lehnberg - 4.5 km (2.8 Miles)
From the cosy mountain hut Lehnberghaus to the restaurant and bar Arzkasten. On request, the hut owner will even bring you up to the hut in his jeep.
Sledging at Simmering - 6 km (3.7 Miles)
Start: Grünberg Ski Lift in Obsteig
Warm food and drinks, and great views.
Natural Bobsleigh Sledging Holzleiten-Nassereith - 2.5 km (1.6 Miles)
Being the first street bobsleigh run in Austria - the piste from Holzleiten to Nassereith is an extra special attraction! Whether as a spectator or trying it yourself, it is definitely worth a visit!
